Ample Hills Creamery (Feat. The Black & Walt) | Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, NY
Did you know that Uber delivers food?
Well, I didn’t until the other day when they had a promo for FREE ICE CREAM. That’s right, and it wasn’t just some plain old Ice Cream truck garbage, instead they offered the Black & Walt ice cream sandwich from Ample Hills Creamery. Although I’ve never had Ample Hills Creamery before, I’ve only heard good things about their ice cream.
Anticipating a huge demand for the free ice cream, I ordered mine at 11:30AM and was delivered to my office approximately 10 minutes later…. Not wanting to look like a mad man eating dessert before lunch at my cube, I put the ice cream sandwich in the freezer till it hit noon.

This glorious thing was revealed when I opened the box. My first reaction; “Holy crap this is huge, it’s bigger than my fist and … diabetes anyone?”
The Black & Walt is essentially a Black & White cookie ice cream sandwich with a slab of vanilla malted ice cream rolled in malted chocolate Rice Krispies crunch. The ice cream itself was delicious. Super creamy and velvety, and for some reason the taste reminded me of a moist butter cake. The chocolate crunch on the outside was amazing; I could eat it by the spoonfuls. It reminded me of the Carvel cookie crumbles but only airier, which is good because it allows you to taste the vanilla ice cream. The Black & White cookie was alright, nothing special. The only thing I didn’t like about this was that the cookie was too thick, throwing off the cookie sandwich to ice cream ratio.
Also, don’t eat this at your cube. It was a mess… Ice Cream. Everywhere…
