Las Brisas | Laguna Beach, CA

If you want to enjoy an Easter Brunch with a view, you have to come to Las Brisas in Laguna Beach, CA. This beach is what you get to look at while you dine:

Normally this is a Mexican restaurant, but on Easter, they serve an American-Style brunch. Prices are expensive, between $50 and $75 a person, but you get unlimited champagne and fruit, soup or salad, entree, and cake for dessert.

I had the chilled cucumber gazpacho, which was delicious. Although I did not like the sour cream at the bottom, this was already there when the soup was poured on top. I would recommend all the accouterments come “on the side” in the future.

I was slightly disappointed that there was not a single vegetarian option on the prix fixe menu. I ordered a shrimp omelette for my entree, which was very tasty, but I think too heavy on the cheese. I felt my arteries clogging up with eat bite. However, my date had the $75 surf and turf. The lobster was great, and so was the portion size!

Service was as good as you could expect on such a busy holiday. Menus were not brought out, and we had to request chips and salsa, Mexican sweet bread, and other items multiple times from the overwhelmed staff. Still, the gorgeous view is what you come for and what you pay for. There is also a rose garden outside for wonderful photo ops.
